SEE & DO

THINGS TO DO

Our location in the center of Addison County is the ideal base to see and experience all that central Vermont has to offer, within a short drive.  There's the Green Mountains to the east and Lake Champlain to the west and the DreamHouse is nestled in the verdant valley in between.
The area is loaded with lakes and small streams so fishing and boating is close by.  Depending on the season, you can ski, hike, bike or drive through some of the most beautiful countryside in New England.
Read on below to see some of our suggestions . . .
And if you prefer to do nothing, you've come to the right place! Just relax, sleep in a comfortable bed, enjoy a great breakfast and  chill!

There are some great restaurants within a short drive from the Inn. We'd be happy to send you a list which includes days of operation, location and if you like, our recommendations.

History and The Arts

History and art surround us! Travel a short distance in any direction and you'll find  interesting and fun things to do. There's art, history, collectables and concerts at The Shelburne Museum and nearby in Middlebury. Historic sites are everywhere! See some of our famous covered bridges or visit the Morgan Horse Museum. Visit Fort Ticonderoga or the Robert Frost interpretive  walk or some the many smaller sites all over the central Vermont.

Golf
There are several golf courses within 20 minutes or less.  Rocky Ridge and Cedar Knoll Country Club are east of Bristol near Hinesburgh and The Ralph Myre course is located in Middlebury. There other courses in Shelburne, Waitsfield, Warren & Brandon which are 30 to 40 minutes away.
Ski -Snowboard -XC Ski
Stay with us, save $$ on lodging and ski nearby. The Middlebury Ski Bowl and Rikert XC Center are only 20 minutes away. If you prefer Mad River Glen or Sugarbush, they are just 30minutes.
Wineries Micro-Breweries & Cider
Did you Know that Vermont has more Microbreweries per person than any other state?

'You'll find several wineries close by including the Award Winning Lincoln Peak. Vermont is also know for its abundance of Micro Breweries, Cideries and Boutique Distilleries - there's one right in town and quite few more within a short drive.

Just enjoy the slower pace of Vermont, kick-back with a nice glass of wine or iced tea on one of our porches or in our cozy guest living room and enjoy the sunset.

Bristol and surrounding towns are quite at night once the restaurants close. But, Burlington Rocks!

Lots of restaurants that stay open much later that those out here in the country.  Pine Street and Church Street are loaded with cool stuff to do. Asks for more details.

Just across the road, enjoy a short hike and self tour of a developing organic farm. There's honey bees, ponds and streams and a path down to the New Haven river. You can even fish - license required. In winter there are snowshoe or XC Ski trails too. Bring your own skis or use our snowshoes.

Hiking & Biking

Bristol is home to waterfalls, swimming holes and numerous hiking trails that range in difficulty from an easy stroll to a vigorous hike up Mt. Abraham. There's biking for all skill levels too.  You can peddle down a country lane or through town or test your skills on the Appalachian or Lincoln gap. We have bikes and helmets available for you to use.
